The Balochistan Awami Party [lower-alpha 1] (BAP), established in 2018, originated from breakaway factions of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Muslim League (Q) in Balistan. It rose to prominence after the 2018 general elections, emerging as the dominant political force in the province. Currently, BAP leads a coalition government in Balochistan and holds a key position the ruling alliance at the federal level. Often described as a pro-establishment party, it maintains close ties with Pakistan’s security and political establishment in the region.
