The Senate of Pakistan, constitutionally referred to as the House of the Federation and commonly known as the Upper House, serves as the upper chamber within the bicameral Parliament of Pakistan. As of 2023, it can have a maximum of 96 members, out of which 92 are elected by the provincial legislatures through a single transferable vote system, while four members represent the federal capital. Senators serve for a term of six years, with elections for half of the seats taking place every three years. Unlike the National Assembly, the Senate is a continuous body and is not subject to dissolution.
