Azamgarh State University (Hindi: आजमगढ़ राज्य विश्वविद्यालय) is a state university in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India established by The Uttar Pradesh State Universities (Amendment) Act, 2019.[1] It is expected to open in 2021–22. It will give affiliation to all government and private degree colleges in the districts of Azamgarh and Mau who are currently affiliated with Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University.[2] It was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh vide its Gazette Notification No. 1446/79-V-1-19-1(K)-3-19, Lucknow, dated 5 August 2019. Notification No. 610/Sattar-1-2021-16(74)/2018 T.C., Lucknow, dated 28 April 2021, by the State Government, the first academic session of the University was started from 2021-2022.Azamgarh University
