Atishay Kshetra Lunwa is a famous Jain pilgrimage site situated 70 km from Jaipur. Lunwa is a small village under Nagaur district of Rajasthan, India. The Jain temple in Lunwa has long historical story of its existence and has two Jain Temple in the town.

Atishay Kshetr in Jainism is place where buried Jain Idol are found inside the Land, as Jainism has history arose from 6th century BC[2] in India Jain Idol got buried in Lands during the various ages and wars.

Temples in Lunwa[edit]

There are two Jain temple in Lunwa; both have historical significance, are famous for the Chamatkar and the wishes of devotees who worship there will be fulfilled.

  • Khandelwal Digambar Jain Mandir : This temple has main Idol of Lord Aadinath[3] which is First Tirthankar of Jainism . The temples is more than 400 years old and its history back around विक्रम सम्वत 1672, during that time Idol of Lord Chandra Prabhu eighth Tirthankar of Jainism was found during the digging of Land for Construction in border of Naraina, a Village in Rajashthan after that it arose disputes between Neighboring villages for taking ownership of Idol . It was then mutually decided to put the Idol in Bullock Cart without any mentor and release it and in village where Bull will stop will be the owner of the Idol and it will be established there. The bull ran almost 45 km without stopping anywhere and finally stop at Adinath Jain Temple Lunwa . Locals of nearby village of Naraina tracked the Bullock Cart and handed over the Idol to the Jains of Lunwa to place the Idol in Adinath Jain Temple, which was later changed the name to Khandelwal Digambar Jain Mandir.
  • Digambar Jain Atishaya Kshetra Nasiya Ji: Shri 1008 Neminath Swami Temple usually being called as "Nasiya Ji" is temple situated at Bus stand Lunwa.This temple is another Chamatkar(miracle) in Lunwa Village. This temple has its own history, around 75 years back during the digging of Land to form Water well by a farmer Idol of " Lord Shri Chandra Prabhu and Lord Shri Shantinath " was found, The idol was placed in the Neminath Swami Temple with proper rituals, it created atmosphere of full of joy and energy among the villagers.

Recent Events[edit]

In Khandelwal Digambar Jain Temple,Lunwa renovation work is being going on and from 17 April'2016 to 23 April'2016 Panchkalyan Pratishta Mahotsav will take place in very large scale. Acharya Shri Indranand Ji Maharaj will bless the occasion and Mahesh Pandit from Bhopal will provide the guidance of all rituals.

  • By Road : Lunwa is 70 km away from Jaipur and is 4 km inside Nawa-Sambhar Highway from village Lohrana. Also it can be reached via Jobner -Bheslana-Bhadwa.Road are excellent and it take one hour to reach there from Jaipur..Rajasthan.
  • By Train : Nearest Railway Station to Lunwa is Phulera 24 km away from Lunwa and Taxi and local conveyance is easily available.
  • By Air : Nearest Domestic and International Airport to Lunwa is Jaipur, situated 70 km away.
