Anumodhanam is a 1978 Indian Malayalam-language film, directed by I. V. Sasi and produced by Thayyil Kunjikandan. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Vidhubala, Jayan, Sankaradi, Raghavan and Bahadoor. The film has musical score by A. T. Ummer.[2][3][4]

Rajappan who is employed but doesn't gets a job with his studiness.And he gets a job in a press.Rajappan has a younger sister sridevi their mother and Father died early.Rajappan hard works to Iook after sridevi.Thankhamma who is their neighbour and Rajappan is in love and he marries her and they lives happily with the simple amount that he gets from the press.Vijayan and Sridevi is in love and Rajappan fixes their marriage.One day their managers son James arrives in the press because of the illness of their manager.He is a smuggler and who ofenly visits the club.His friend raghavan is also with him.One day sridevi comes with the lunch of Rajappan,James sees her and likes her,He then secretly looks her going and which is house and everything,but raghavan says that she is a poor girl and don't try to follow her.One day rajappan,Vijayan and Thankhamma goes to take the ornaments and Saree for sridevis Marriage.James trickly says to his assistant that tell sridevi friend Ragini that rajappan gets arrested by the police in the case of drugs and also says to bring sridevi to his house.Ragini tells this to sridevi and she is afraid what should she do.After some time The assistant of James comes to sridevis house and tells to her that say this matter to James the police inspector is his friend.Sridevi goes with him and he says to go to James room and closes the door.Their begins a big fight and finally he rapes her.Raghavan sees all these.Rajappan is arrived with the things for sridevi but she is unhappy and her face and lips is injured and Rajappan asks what's the problem and she doesn't tells anything.After some days sridevis Marriage day comes but they searches her everywhere but doesn't finds and when ragini tells that sridevis dead body is in the seashore rajappan and Vijayan very sad.Rajappan thinks why should she suicided. One day vijayan comes to sridevis room and gets a letter of her and In that letter he realises every thing.Raghavan Says to James that this was all because of you and he says that he will tells to everyone that James raped her.And raghavan says this to rajappan and Inspected.Gopi and rajappan heart beats like a volcano and he is in search for James.on the other way raghavan gets captured by James assistants and He kills raghavan cruley and Put his body in cement and throws too the big sea.James knowed that rajappan is in search for him he wants to his secret guest house but rajappan finds that place fights with him and James wins and hands off the knife and tries to kill him but a vijayan kills James from back and goes to the sea and sees sridevi tells him to come with her and he suiceds. Rajappan and inspecter comes they sees v ijayans dead body.The symbol of true love.

Anumodhanam film directed by I. V. Sasi[5] and produced by Thayyil Kunjikandan under production banner Chelavoor Pictures.[6] This film was shot in black-and-white. It was given an "U" (Unrestricted) certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. The final length of the film was 3,863.95 metres (12,677.0 ft).[6]

Soundtrack[edit]

The music was composed by A. T. Ummer and the lyrics were written by Bharanikkavu Sivakumar.
