Mashal Sports, the organizers of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), have made an exciting announcement regarding the landmark Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 Player Auction. The auction is scheduled to take place in Mumbai from 8 to 9 September 2023.[1] In preparation for the upcoming season, the Salary Purse available to each franchise for building their squads has been increased from INR 4.4 crore to INR 5 crore, marking a significant boost in financial resources for the teams.
The players participating in the auction will be divided into two main categories: Domestic players and Overseas players. Within each category, there will be further divisions based on their skill sets, namely 'All-Rounders,' 'Defenders,' and 'Raiders.' This classification system will help teams strategize and target specific types of players they need to bolster their squads.
To establish a baseline value for the players, each category will have a fixed base price. The base prices for the four categories are as follows:
- Category A: INR 30 Lakh
- Category B: INR 20 Lakh
- Category C: INR 13 Lakh
- Category D: INR 9 Lakh
This categorization and pricing system will enable fair and competitive bidding during the auction process.
In addition to the vast pool of players available for the auction, the Season 10 Player Pool will include more than 500 talented individuals. Among these players, there will be 24 participants from the two finalist teams of the Khelo India University Games 2023. Including these standout university-level players in the auction adds an exciting element of fresh talent to the mix.
The Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 Player Auction promises to be an enthralling event, where teams will look to secure top talents and build formidable lineups for the upcoming season. Fans and enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing the drama unfold in Mumbai as teams vie for the best kabaddi players on offer.
