Pathari State was established by Orakzai tribe leaded by Grandson of Nawab Dost Mohd Khan of Bhopal under subdivision of the Central India Agency. The state covered an area of 78 square kilometers and had a population of 6,293 in 1892. Its capital was at Pathari town.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
Following Indian independence in 1947, the last ruler of Pathari signed the instrument of accession to the Union of India on 15 June 1948.[2] The former state was incorporated into the new state of Madhya Bharat, which subsequently became Madhya Pradesh state on 1 November 1956.
