Indian Americans are Americans with ancestry from India. They are a category of South Asian Americans, which are a category of Asian Americans. Indian Americans have a median household income of $120,000, higher than any other group of Americans.[7]

Indian Americans are sometimes confused with American Indians, also known as Native Americans. American Indians are not actually connected to India.[8]
