NTR district was carved out of Krishna district in 2022. [2]It came into being on 4 April 2022.[3]

Kanchikacherla under Kanchikacherla mandal is represented by Nandigama (SC) (Assembly constituency), which in turn represents Vijayawada (Lok Sabha constituency) of Andhra Pradesh.[4] The present MLA representing Nandigama (SC) (Assembly constituency) is Dr.M. JAGAN MOHANARAO of YSRC Party.[5][6]
