L. K. Advani was born in Karachi in a Sindhi Hindu family of businessmen<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20111006183815/http://www.thefridaytimes.com/beta2/tft/article.php?issue=20110930&page=7</ref> to parents Kishanchand D. Advani and Gyani Devi.[3] He completed his early schooling from Saint Patrick's High School, Karachi, and then enrolled in Government College Hyderabad, Sindh.
