Ibrahimpatnam is a census town in the NTR district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the mandal headquarters of Ibrahimpatnam mandal, NTR district in the Vijayawada revenue division.[1]

History

NTR district was carved out of Krishna district in 2022.[2] It came into being on 4 April 2022.[3]

Geography

Ibrahimpatnam covers an area of 15.00 sq km.[4]

Dr Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station, one of the major Thermal power stations of the state is located near the town.[5]

Railway Wagon Workshop at Rayanapadu is also located very near to Ibrahimpatnam at a distance of 4 km.

Demographics

According to the 2011 census, Ibrahimpatnam had a population of 29,432, of which 13,690 (47%) were males and 15,742 (53%) females.[4]

In Ibrahimpatnam, literates numbered 20,673 (70.34%).[4]

Kondapalli railway station is the nearest station to the town, located at a distance of 6 km on Kazipet–Vijayawada section. It is under the administeration of Vijayawada railway division of South Central Railway zone.[6] NH 65 passes through the town, which connects Vijayawada and Hyderabad. APSRTC operates city buses from Vijayawada to Ibrahimpatnam.

Education

The primary and secondary school education is imparted by government, aided and private schools, under the School Education Department of the state.[7][8] The medium of instruction followed by different schools are English, Telugu.
