Rajesh started his flute training under the renowned musician Sun Bright, a multi talented person from a well known Vavakkattu family of his nearest village, in Carnatic music. And with Chaurasiaji he trained Hindustani. His first studio recording was that conducted by violinist Thiruvizha Ullas at [[Kalabhavan|Kalabhavan Kochi]], Rajesh was introduced into cinema by [[Jassie Gift]], one of the well-known Malayalam playback singers from Kerala, in 2004.
