Legislative Assembly elections were held in Rajasthan on 25 November 2023 to elect 199 of the 200 members of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. The results were declared on 3rd December 2023. The election for the remaining 1 seat has been adjourned.[3]
Background[edit]
The tenure of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on 14 January 2024.[4] The previous assembly elections were held in December 2018. After the election, Indian National Congress formed the state government, with Ashok Gehlot becoming Chief Minister.[5]
Schedule[edit]
The schedule of the election was announced by the Election Commission of India on 9 October 2023.[6] However, the election date was postponed from 23 November 2023 to 25 November 2023.[7][8]
