Karnataka is a state in the Republic of India. It has an area of 74,122 square miles (191,980 km2). It is bigger than Syria but smaller than Senegal. In traditional Indian geography it falls under the South n zone. It has 30 districts. According to the Census of 2011,it has a population of approximately 6.11 crores.[1] The present Chief Minister of the state is B. S. Yeddyurappa from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)[2]
