Location in India

Ukilerhat railway station is a Kolkata Suburban Railway Station on the Main line. It is under the jurisdiction of the Sealdah railway division in the Eastern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. Ukilerhat railway station is situated beside Kakdwip-Namkhana Road, Bishalakshmipur, Ukilerhat, South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.[1][2]

In 2006, the Indian Railways constructed a 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in)-wide broad-gauge railway from Kakdwip to Namkhana via Ukilerhat.[3]

Electrification[edit | edit source]

Electrification from Kakdwip to Namkhana including Ukilerhat was completed with 25 kV AC overhead system in 2005–06.[4]

Station complex[edit | edit source]

The platform is very much well sheltered. The station possesses many facilities including water and sanitation. It is well connected to the NH-12. There is a proper approach road to this station.[5]
