Sunitha Varma Alluri is an Indian film actress who works in the South Indian film industries. She has been appearing in feature films in Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil films along with a few Kannada languages for over a decade, since her debut in Neevente Nuventa (2001).

Biography[edit]

Born into a Telugu-speaking family, she hails from the lineage of Alluri Sita Rama Raju. She has some European ancestry[citation needed]. She is a non-practising Hindu.[3]

Career[edit]

In 2001, she made her film debut through the Telugu film Neevente Nuventa and went on to act in a few more Telugu movies. She made her debut in Tamil cinema 2005 Oru Murai Sollividu under the stagen name Janapriya,[4] which went unnoticed.[5] She again reverted to her original name and acted in further Tamil films including the crime thriller 6'2 opposite Sathyaraj,[6] and the experimental film Iruvar Mattum which features only two characters.[7][8]

She changed her name to Radha Varma and made her Malayalam film debut by starring with Dileep in the successful 2008 comedy film Crazy Gopalan.[9] She acted as lead in Dr. Patient alongside Jayasurya and Mukesh. Her most recent release is newcomer Vaishakh's Seniors which released on 7 May 2011 and became successful. She starred as Manoj K. Jayan's wife Fathima alias "Paathumma".She also appeared in a few more Malayalam language films. She has acted in two Kannada language films in 2006.
