"Contributions" linkage to the top header[edit source]
Hello everyone, I would like to propose a small but highly impactful interface enhancement for Bharatpedia.
Current Situation[edit source]
As shown in the screenshot above, the top header currently displays links for "Discuss," donation, appearance, and language. However, there is no quick access to view a user's contributions directly from the header. Users currently have to navigate through their personal user menu to find this link, which adds unnecessary steps to common task.
Proposed Change[edit source]
I propose adding a dynamic "Contributions" icon directly in the top header bar, positioned next to the "Discuss" icon.
To match standard MediaWiki behavior and improve editor workflow, this link should be 'context-aware':
- On regular pages (Articles, Main Page, etc.): The link should point to
Special:MyContributions(showing the current user's own edit history). - On another user's User page or User talk page (Namespace 2 or 3): The link should dynamically extract the username from the page title and point to
Special:Contributions/[Username](showing that specific user's edit history).

Adding a Contributions link to the top header would make it easier for editors to access their own or other users' edit histories without navigating through additional menus. Adding a Contributions icon to the header would make accessing edit histories much more convenient, especially for editors who frequently review their own or other users' contributions. I particularly like the context-aware behavior on User and User talk pages. One small consideration would be to ensure that user subpages are also handled correctly, so pages such as

AI edit summary[edit source]
GitHub uses AI for edit summary and other such petty tasks. It's very helpful. Can Bharatpedia utilise it too? - I am writing Bharatpedia:AI and will mention a few editors for policy guideline improvements, including you. I strongly believe that people must adapt to the evolving times. If anyone uses AI for correcting minor grammatical or punctuation errors, grouping, and fixing reference syntax issues, there is no problem. However, the full responsibility falls on the user. If a user introduces any false information, possible sanctions will apply to them. Therefore, AI must be used responsibly.
