Dr. Somendra Tomar is an Indian politician and a member of 17th Legislative Assembly for Uttar Pradesh, India. He represents the Meerut South constituency of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.[2]

2004 PhD awarded in Physics from Institute of Advanced Studies, CCS University Campus, Meerut ( India).

Research Topic Undertaken "Synthesis and Characterization of Vacuum Evaporated 〖CDS〗_(1-x ) 〖Se〗_x Thin Films"

2003 M.Phil in Physics from Institute of Advanced Studies, C.C.S University Camus, Meerut (India).

2002 MSc in Physics with Specialization in Electronics from Institute of Advanced Studies, C.C.S University Campus, Meerut (India).

2000 BSc with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from C.C.S. University, Meerut (India).

1997 Intermediate (Science-Mathematics) from U.P Board, Allahabad.

1995 High School (Science-Mathematics) from U.P Board, Allahabad.

Political career[edit]

In 1999, Tomar was one who works for "Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad(ABVP)" and served the same till 2004.

Under ABVP he win in the elections of "Alumni association" in 2003.

During his tenure he leads several social activities.

In 2012 his candidature was declared from South Meerut and been working with the party in spite of choosing elections.

Worked as Co-charge in Haryana Assembly Elections.

By "Youva Morcha" responsibilities given in Delhi Assembly Elections.

Worked as general secretary in "Bhajyumo".

Worked as national secretary in "Bhajyumo".

Dr. Somendra Tomar has been a member of the 17th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh. Since 2017, he has represented the Meerut South constituency and is a member of BJP.[1]

Dr. Somendra Tomar was awarded the Model Youth Legislative Award in the 8th Annual Convention of Indian Students' Parliament organized by M.I.T. World Peace University in Pune, on 19 January 2018.

Dr. Somendra Tomar was in U.S (from 28 September to 19 October 2019) and he was representing India in International Visitor Leadership Program.

Worked as Chairman in Uttar Pradesh Panchayati Raj Samiti from December 2017 to October 2019

Sports and cultural achievements[edit]

Somendra Tomar arranged multiple social and cultural events at rural and social levels. He also involved in construction of Hanuman temple in Meerut University premises. He was the president of National Gurjar/Gujjar Association. Till his completion of graduation he was regularly trained in N.C.C.

He was secretary of Sports Association in Meerut University in 2002 and was the captain of Kabbadi Team of Science Department.[citation needed]

Social campaign involvement[edit]

Somendra Tomar involved in several encompasses, display, rallies in West U.P. Worked with "National Swayam Sevak Sangh" and organised several events. He also successfully organised events for tribal community too. In rural areas he arrange medical campaigns, sports activities and social events time to time.
