Solanki is a clan of the Rajputs^[1] in North West India but which has also been borrowed by other communities such as the Saharias as a means of advancement by the process of sanskritisation.^[2]^[3] Other groups that use the name include the Bhils of Rajasthan.^[4]^[5] It is also found among Jats and Rajput Mali .^{[citation needed]}
