Shruti Sharma (born 5 July 1994) is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi television.[2] She debuted in television as a contestant on the reality show India's Next Superstars in 2018 and subsequently appeared in the fiction TV serials Gathbandhan, Nazar 2, Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka! and Namak Issk Ka.[3]

Early life[edit]

Sharma was born on 5 July 1994 in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, india. Her father Ganesh Sharma was an actor and used to work in Bhojpuri movies and now he is working in the electricity department of Lucknow. She has been fond of acting and dancing since childhood. She is a trained dancer and has taken two years of training in Bharatanatyam from Bhathkhande. After schooling, she came to Mumbai to learn acting from Anupam Kher’s acting school. Sharma started her career as a model and appeared in several television commercials.

Career[edit]

In 2018, Sharma entered Hindi television as a participant in StarPlus's India's Next Superstars and emerged as the winner.[4]That year she made her Telugu film debut with Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya opposite Naveen Polishetty.[5]In 2019, she bagged her first main lead character in Gathbandhan on Colors TV as IPS Dhanak Parekh, a police officer who marries a don.[6]2020, she worked in Gul Khan's Star Plus supernatural productions Nazar 2 as Palak Verma and Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka! as Shayari.[7]From November 2020 to August 2021, she starred in Khan's Namak Issk Ka on Colors TV portraying the double role of Kahani Verma/Chamcham and Satya Verma.[8]
