Rajani (born Shashi Kaur Malhotra; 27 July 1965)[1] is an Indian actress known for her works predominantly in Tamil (credited as Sasikala), Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films (credited as Rajani).[2]

She has worked in 150 feature films including Seetharama Kalyanam, Rendu Rella Aaru and Aha Naa Pellanta, opposite Rajendra Prasad, Majnu, opposite Nagarjuna and Seetaramula Kalyanam, opposite Balakrishna. She also starred in Kannada films including Jai Karnataka, a remake of the 1987 Bollywood hit Mr. India and Neenu Nakkare Haalu Sakkare, with Vishnuvardhan and Ambareesh. She then starred in Bharathan's Malayalam hit Padheyam, opposite Mammootty.[3]

Rajani was born as Shashi Kaur Malhotra in Bengaluru to V. N. Malhotra and Sulochana.[citation needed]

She was married to Dr. Mullagiri Praveen in 1998; they have 3 children. [4]
