Rainbow AC
Rainbow Athletic Club (also known as ASOS, Rainbow AC, or simply Rainbow,[2][3] formerly NBP Rainbow)[4] is an Indian professional football club based in Kolkata, West Bengal,[5] that competes in the Calcutta Premier Division.[6][7][8] In 2018, they competed in the I-League 2nd Division, the second tier of Indian football league system.[9]

The team was founded in 1956 as Baranagore Rainbow Club, then got renamed as NBP Rainbow AC. The team has not been as successful as their city rivals, East Bengal Club, Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan Sporting or Peerless SC.[10][11][12] Rainbow participates in the Calcutta Football League premier divisions.[13][14][15]
In 2020, Rainbow entered into a partnership with Indian conglomerate Aditya Group. It was announced that the new entity will have former India international Debjit Ghosh as their technical director.[16]
In June 2023, IFA announced that they have merged both Premier Division A and B of the Calcutta Football League ahead of its 125th edition, in which Rainbow was placed in the group B.[17][18][19]
StadiumEdit
Rainbow club plays most of their home matches at Barasat Stadium, which is located in Barasat, North 24 Parganas.[20] The stadium has a seating capacity of about 20,000 spectators.[21]
