Prof Rabinarayan Acharya (birthdate – 26 February 1967) is a Indian Researcher (Ayurveda) and the Director General of Central Council of Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi.[1] He was born in Nalibar Village, Jagatsinghpur District, in Odhisa. His fathers name is Late Shri Parikshita Acharya. Prof Acharya is the first person from Odhisa to become a head of a central government organization under the Ministry of Ayush. He was temporary advisor to WHO[2][3][4]

Prof Acharya completed his BSc (Hons. Botany) and BAMS (Hons) from Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar. He completed his post graduation in MD (Ayurveda), Dravyaguna and Ph.D in Ayurveda (Dravyaguna) from Gujarat University. He also have a PG Diploma in Bioethics.[5][3]

He has worked on standardization of 13 poisonous drug plant drugs and established the impact of Shodhana for better therapeutic applications. He have more than 26 years of teaching and was awarded " Best Teacher Award" from the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of Ayush while serving as the Head of the Department of Dravyaguna at Institute for Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Gujarat University.[6][7] His research experience also enriched Ayurvedic Pharmacopeial drugs to encourage Ayurveda clinical research.[2]

He is a prolific writer and authored five books.[2]
