The Prime Minister's Office (PMO)[lower-alpha 1] serves as the official workplace for the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and is led by the Principal Secretary. Its main responsibility is to coordinate the activities and executive actions of all government ministries, primarily to assist the Prime Minister in fulfilling their duties.
During times when an interim or caretaker regime is in place, the office is referred to as the Chief Adviser's Office [lower-alpha 2] and is typically headed by a Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser.
Headquarter[edit]
Before the revival of the presidential system of government in 1975, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman served as Prime Minister, and his secretariat was initially located at Sugandha Bhaban, which was then called the "President's House" on Bailey Road. Later, the secretariat moved to Ganabhaban in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.[1][2]
