PrepInsta Technologies[edit]

PrepInsta Technologies Pvt. Ltd[1] is an Indian Ed-tech startup company, headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, specifically catering to the engineering students.[2] It was founded in 2017 by three students from VIT - Atulya Kaushik [3][4], Aashay Mishra [5] and Manish Agarwal. In March 2023, PrepInsta's valuation stood at US$10 million. [6]

PrepInsta Technologies runs two vertical products; PrepInsta and PrepInsta Prime. [7]

Idea and Concept[edit]

PrepInsta was founded in 2017 which started from Bengaluru, Karnataka and later shifted its Headquarters to Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The idea was to close the emerging gap between the student world and the Indian Tech Industry. Later Aashay Mishra, and Manish Agarwal joined the startup as COO and CMO respectively. [8]

Vertical Expansion[edit]

By 2021, in the post Covid era PrepInsta launched its new vertical, PrepInsta Prime, labeled as an OTT platform for learning.[9] PrepInsta also partnered with TCS for up-skilling, hiring and certifications in the same year.[10]

B2B Ventures[edit]

Between 2020 - 2023, PrepInsta has joined hands with multiple companies, colleges [11]and assessment platforms.

PrepInsta collaborated with TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), India to provide the TCS iON Rio Certifications along with their PrepInsta Prime Subscription.[12]

in 2023, PrepInsta initiated a Hackathon named PrepSAT[13] in collaboration with WeCP (We Create Problems) which targeted to provide jobs and internship opportunities to more than 100,000 students who participated in the job-a-thon (PrepSAT).[14]

PrepInsta also ventured into B2B during 2022 and 2023 with GITAM Vishakhapatnam[15], KL University, SNS Coimbatore, VIT Vellore.

Products and Services[edit]

PrepInsta has two vertical websites - PrepInsta which is a free resources website and PrepInsta Prime launched as a paid OTT learning platform.[16]

PrepInsta[edit]

PrepInsta is a content heavy website[17] that provides placement related articles in the form of blogs. The subject of the blogs cover topics such as Recruitment Process, Syllabus, Test Pattern, Assessment Analysis, Eligibility Criteria along with mocks and quizzes for practice which are company specific. PrepInsta also provides interview preparation resources which are universal to students of all fields.

PrepInsta Prime[edit]

PrepInsta Prime is a platform for learning and up-skilling in an OTT format. PrepInsta Prime was launched in 2021. PrepInsta Prime follows a Netflix or Amazon Prime like subscription model for the students. The subscription plan starts from 3 months and extends upto 48 months. PrepInsta Prime provides multiple courses in the tech field to help students get placed in Product based and Service based Companies

Optimus[edit]

Optimus by PrepInsta Prime is an assessment tool and a student performance dashboard that the company has launched to provide mock assessments and student performance index specifically for the partnered colleges.

Controversy[edit]

In 2022, PrepInsta's website was down and subsequently hacked. While the company denied any leak of confidential user data, there was a turmoil on social media surrounding the issue.[18]
