Pratapsinh III was born on 25 May 1872 as the younger son of Rajaram III of Satara]. He received a private education and succeeded his elder brother as a First-Class Sardar of the Deccan on 5 November 1914. In 1889, he was married at the Jalmandir Palace in Satara to Tarabai III Bhonsle, as well as to Shrimant Yashodabai Dafle, the only daughter of Amritrao Dafle, Desmukh and Chief of Jath, from his second wife, Anandibai Dafle. Pratapsinh III passed away at Jalmandir Palace, Satara, on 5 March 1925.[1][2]
