Pathaan is a fictional Indian spy (RAW agent) appearing in the Pathaan film series and other films of the YRF Spy Universe, an Indian cinematic universe.[1][2] He is portrayed by Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan. The character first appeared in Pathaan (2023) and will appear again in Tiger 3 (2023), War 2 (2025) and Tiger vs. Pathaan (2026).[3][4][5] The character has gained a cult fan following.[6]

Background[edit]

Pathaan was born in 1968. He created Joint Operations and Covert Research (J.O.C.R), a sub-division of R&AW, that recruits those Indian spies who retired before time, because of some injury or emotional trauma.[7][8][9] Rubina Mohsin, a Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence agent, is his love interest whom he met during a mission in Spain and Moscow.[10] He is a friend of Tiger and Kabir, other fictional Indian spies in the YRF Spy Universe, portrayed by Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan respectively.[11][12]
