Panju Island is an Estuarine Island situated in Naigaon between Bhayandar & Naigaon Railway Stations. This Island is used by the Western Railway to connect the Mainland of Bhayandar with the Mainland of Naigaon by Rail i.e. Rail Bridge 1 from (Bhayander to Panju Island) & Rail Bridge 2 (from Panju Island to Naigaon).  


Panju Island is an Ancient Historical Island. Monetary Transactions during the time of Sir Chimaji Appa were carried out at this Island. This Island has given Pivotal Contribution in India’s Freedom Fighting Campaign & has given 23 Freedom Fighters. This Island stands 1st in Palghar District as far as its capacity of population is concerned. Area of Panju Island is around 600 acres & Aagri community dwells here. Main profession of this community is farming, fishing, salt farming & manual sand evacuations by tradition. There's a Primary School as well as Government recognized secondary School.

Boat Services are available every 30 minutes from Naigaon Ferry Terminal / Naigaon Jetty to Panju Island (Naigaon West) & also from Panju Island Jetty (Naigaon West) to Naigaon Jetty (Naigaon West).

Bhayandar-Naigaon Sea Link / Road Bridge[edit]

The construction work of Bhayandar-Naigaon Sea Link / Road Bridge is in progress. The Sea Link once completed will be beneficial for the people of Bhayandar, Naigaon & Panju Island. This Sea Link will have entry & exit points at Bhayander West, Panju Island (Naigaon) & Naigaon West. Also the travel time will be short & fast to reach Mumbai, Thane & Navi Mumbai thus saving fuel of vehicles. The rush in Mumbai Local Trains will also reduce once an alternative to travel by road is available.
