Navarathinam (transl. Nine Gems) is a 1977 Indian Tamil-language action road film, written and directed by A. P. Nagarajan, starring M. G. Ramachandran in the lead role, Latha, Jayachitra, Zarina Wahab and others enacting supporting roles. It was released on 5 March 1977.

Production[edit]
Navarathinam was A. P. Nagarajan's final film, as well as his only film with M. G. Ramachandran.[2] Zarina Wahab initially suggested her friend Vijaya for one of the female lead roles, but Ramachandran refused; Wahab herself was chosen.[3]
Soundtrack[edit]
The music was composed by Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan.[4] The song "Ladke Se Mili Ladki", written by Bollywood lyricist P. L. Santoshi, consists predominantly of Hindi lyrics.[5]

Release[edit]
Navarathinam was released on 5 March 1977.[6][7] The film failed commercially, and Nagarajan died nearly a month later.[8][9]
