Nanjundapuram flyover also known as Ramanathapuram-Nanjundapuram flyover flyover is a 2 km long flyover in the city of Coimbatore .It was constructed over the two railway lines passing from Coimbatore Junction to Podanur Junction and from Podanur Junction to Irugur Junction. The flyover was planned to reduce traffic congestion in Ramanathapuram Road.[1]
Background[edit]
The foundtaion stone for the flyover was laid in 2010. The flyover is built due to reduce the traffic congestion caused in Ramanathapuram Road.[2] The flyover was planned to reduce the traffic congestion in Ramanathapuram-Nanjundapuram road by the two railway lines passing from Coimbatore Junction to Podanur Junction and from Podanur Junction to Irugur Junction, since it is a major road which connects the Coimbatore city with Podanur Junction and Coimbatore Integrated Bus Terminus.
Planning[edit]
The flyover is planned as a two-laned overpass flyover starting near the Nestle Parson gated community in Ramanathapuram and ends near the Nanjundapuram bus stop.[3]
