Mohammadpur Umri is a small village close to the Indian Air Force base of Bamrauli, near Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, India.[1] Mohammadpur was founded by Mohammad Nasir and his five children, including four sons and one daughter. His second son, Advocate Hasin Ahmad, resided in Allahabad with his son Nisar Ahmad. His residence there is named Mumtaz Mahal. Mohammad Nasir had two grandsons from his son Fazal Ahmad. Both Habib Ahmad and Mahboob Ahmad are ex-MLA. They were indulged in politics. Mohammad Nasir and his ancestors, for example Mohammad Yousuf, his father, Mohammad Hussain, his grandfather, etc. and his sons are all buried in a personal graveyard owned by his family with a length of 2,000 square meters.

Trivia[edit]

  • The village has a large number of twins and therefore sometimes labelled as the twin capital of the world. Out of a total population of 600, there are almost 33 pairs of twins here.[2] The village boasts a twin monozygotic (MZ) or identical twin birth rate that is 300 times the national average and maybe one of the highest in the world.[3]
