Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar PVSM, AVSM, VSM is a serving general officer of the Indian Army. He currently serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Command.[1] He earlier served as the Director General of Military Operation (DGMO).

Early life and education[edit]

M.K Katiyar completed his schooling from the Sainik School, Ghorakhal. He than attended the National Defence Academy, as part of the 68th course. He then was part of the 78th course of the Indian Military Academy.[citation needed]

Military career[edit]

Katiyar was commissioned into the 23th battalion, The Rajput Regiment in June 1986 from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He was graduate of the Defence Service Staff College (Wellington), National Defence College as well as a distinguished graduate of the National War College, USA.[1]
