Madison Elle Beer is an American vocalist and composer whose musical career began gaining significant public notice in 2012 when Justin Bieber shared her rendition of "At Last" when she was just thirteen years old. Her musical journey progressed with the release of her introductory extended play titled "As She Pleases" in 2018. Beer secured her recording contract with Epic Records in August 2019, subsequently launching her inaugural full-length studio album "Life Support" in 2021, which featured the RIAA Platinum-certified track "Selfish".
Her musical catalog expanded with the 2023 release of her second studio album "Silence Between Songs," which garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Immersive Audio Album. Beer's third studio album, "Locket," debuted in 2026, featuring the singles "Make You Mine" (receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording) and "Bittersweet," which achieved her first entry onto the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching position 68.

In 2016, during a YouNow chat session, Beer clarified her identity by stating, "I'm not a lesbian, but I definitely love girls," while acknowledging past romantic connections with women. By March 2020, she had further elaborated on her sexual identity, indicating that she "came out, like, four years, three years ago," affirming "I am bi, always have been; it's nothing new."[1] Beer has been particularly vocal about her perspective on LGBTQ+ acceptance, questioning homophobic attitudes by asking, "Why are you affected by someone else's sexual preference?".[2]
Her romantic relationships have included several notable partnerships. Beer dated Jack Gilinsky of the musical duo Jack & Jack from 2015 until 2017, followed by a brief relationship with Brooklyn Beckham in 2017. Her connection with entrepreneur Zack Bia extended from late 2017 through early 2019.[3] During the summer of 2020 until May 2025, Beer maintained an intermittent romantic relationship with internet personality Nick Austin.[4] As of October 2025, Beer is romantically involved with Justin Herbert, who serves as an NFL quarterback and ranks among the league's highest-paid players.[5]

Madison Beer has been open about her ongoing mental health challenges, noting that these difficulties have been significantly amplified by social media and internet exposure. Her struggles led to a pattern of requiring external validation and constant need for compliments from others. Beer underwent lip filler treatment but later had it dissolved, which became widely discussed across social media platforms.
Her mental health journey began early, with an anxiety disorder diagnosis at the age of seven. As a young performer, Beer faced unique challenges, once receiving feedback that she couldn't participate in revealing content because "you're already so hot and you're only 13".
A traumatic incident occurred when Beer was fifteen, when nude videos she had sent to her boyfriend were leaked online. This experience, which she described as reminiscent of childhood sexual abuse, triggered the development of post-traumatic stress disorder and led to two suicide attempts.
At sixteen, Beer experimented with marijuana for the first time, though she feared potential video leaks could damage her career prospects. Beer abstains from alcohol consumption.
During 2019, after consulting six different psychiatrists—one of whom incorrectly diagnosed her with schizophrenia and prescribed antipsychotic sedatives that left her feeling like a "zombie", Beer received a proper diagnosis of borderline personality disorder.
