Little Miss Rawther


Little Miss Rawther[1] is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language Musical romantic comedy film directed by Vishnu Dev and produced by Srujan Yarabolu and Sadhik Sheikh under the banner of S Originals, with a screenplay by Shersha Sherief. The film was co-produced by Suthin Sugathan and Naveen.[2] The film stars Gouri G. Kishan[3] and Shersha Sherief in the lead roles. The plot follows a mix of romantic drama and comedy. The Music and background score was composed by Govind Vasantha.[4]

The Principal photography of the film began in October 2022. The shoot took place in and around the capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. Little Miss Rawther was all set to release on 6th October 2023.[5]

PlotEdit

Naina Rawther is a so-called liberated, modern-day successful young woman, born to an upper-middle class Muslim family. Her family was very orthodox , a patriarchal father and an over-dramatic mother. She was suffering from OCD problems. Meanwhile, Abhijit,[6] her college boyfriend is seen going through a very tough phase in his life, owing to his sinking film career. Unable to bear the fact that Naina is getting married, he calls his college best friend Arun Kaliyikka for a company and gets completely drunk. This is when Naina who gets cold-feet about getting married to Shafeek, She calls Abhijit for some life perspective in the wedding night. Abhijit who is drunk and the conversation happened between them makes Naina reconsider her decision to get married and decide to run away with Abhijit.[7]

ProductionEdit

The title of the film was officially announced on 7 October 2022. After that, the official first-look poster was released on 12 October 2022.[8]

FilmingEdit

The makers started the principal photography on 26 October 2022 with the switch-on ceremony and completed it on 2 March 2022. It took 37 days to complete the shoot in 3 different schedules. The major shooting was completed in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, Kerala. The post-production of the film started in April.[9]

ReleaseEdit

The film was all set to release on 6 October. The official trailer[10] was released by Dulquer Salmaan, Manju Warrier, and Vineeth Sreenivasan. After the trailer launch director Vishnu Dev and lead actress Gouri G. Kishan announced the release date of the film through their social media handles.[11]

MusicEdit

The original background score and songs are composed by Govind Vasantha. The song "Chikki Chikki" which was released on 12 May was sung by Benny Dayal and the vocals[12] of the second song "Ra Ra Rajasika" was by Sithara Krishnakumar. The music rights were bagged by Wonderwall Media Network.[13]
