Kottai Mariamman Is A 2001 Tamil Devotional Film Written and Directed by Rama Narayanan. This film features Roja in the main role with Karan and Devayani. The film, whose music was composed by Deva, was released in December 2001.[1] This film was dubbed into Telugu under the name Ammoru Thalli In 2001, in Hindi as Jai Maa (Jai Maa Durga Shakti/Jai Durga Shakti) in 2001, as Durga Maiya in 2002, and as Jai Maa in 2006. The film received positive reviews from critics.[2]

Plot[edit]

The film depicts the story of Durga (Roja) who is taken care of and raised by Kottai Mariamman. It also showcases how Mantramoorthi (Rami Reddy) tries to take away Kottai Mariamman's golden eye petals which have divine powers. He is defeated by Kottai Mariamman. He's been helped by Eshwar (Karan), an atheist whose wife Rajeshwari (Devayani) is a great devotee of Kottai Mariamman.
