Kinnakorai is a village in Kundha Taluk, The Nilgiris District, Tamil Nadu. The village consists of about 500 houses[citation needed] and sits about 60 km from Ooty Town and 135 km from Coimbatore city and 60 km from Mulli. The closest town, Manjoor, is 30 km by road.

Previously, coffee was grown, but now the main income source is tea cultivation.[1] Apart from tea, people cultivate vegetable gardens for household use.

Badaga language is chiefly spoken in this village, which has no script and is spoken by about 245,000 kannada &tamil in 200 villages in The Nilgiris.

Religion[edit]

Badagas worship several Hindu deities, including Shiva. But their main deity is "IYYA and HETTY" and they celebrate "Devva Habba" in a grand fashion which spreads over a month during June -July every year, and the festival is celebrated all over the district.
