Kerala Premier League is a semi-professional association football league organized by the Kerala Football Association and played in the state of Kerala, India.[1] For sponsorship reasons, the league is officially known as the Ramco Kerala Premier League, which is the top tier football league in the state.

Structure[edit | edit source]

The league features the best teams of Kerala affiliated with the KFA competing for a trophy. The league is played in a two-single format where the teams are divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group qualify for the final round. Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw, and zero for a loss. At the end of the season, a table of the final standings is determined, based on the points obtained, then goal difference, and then goals scored.

A women's league started in the 2014–15 season with 8 teams.[2][3]

Starting with the 2016–17 season, games are played in a home and away format.

Sponsorship[edit | edit source]

The Kerala Premier League has been sponsored since 2013–14 season. Ramco Cements was the sponsors of the league for the first 2 seasons.
