Kashvee Gautam (born 18 April 2003) is an Indian cricketer, who bats right handed and bowls right arm medium.[1] She is a bowling all-rounder, who currently represents IPL Trailblazers in the Women's T20 Challenge, the women's version of the Indian Premier League.[2] She also plays for the Chandigarh Women in the Inter-State Women's T20 Championship.[3]

Domestic career[edit]

Gautam is considered as the latest sensation of Indian women's cricket.[4][5] Gautam started her youth cricket career disappointingly by playing for the Punjab Under-19 cricket team, on 5 November 2017, during the 2017–18 Inter State Under-19 Women's One-Day Competition with no wickets and a duck.[6] She played all of her domestic U-19 matches for the Punjab Under-19s. She had taken a total of 63 wickets in her U-23 and U-19 career.[7]

She made her Women's Twenty20 debut for the Chandigarh Women, on 14 October 2019, during the 2019–20 Senior Women's T20 League.[8] She took her first wicket in senior cricket career, on 17 October 2019, when she bowled out Rashmi Rai for a duck.[9]

On 15 February 2020, she claimed all the ten wickets, including a hat-trick, against the Arunachal Pradesh in a BCCI Under-19 One Day match. With this, she achieved the feat of becoming the first Indian cricketer to take ten wickets in an innings in a domestic 50-over match.[10] After reaching this landmark, Gautam exclaimed her delight saying, "I still can’t believe it has happened. All I wanted was to bowl in the right area and take wickets. Bowling at the same spot consistently helped me take all these wickets. The pitch was helping seam bowlers a bit and the ball was swinging. It was only when my team-mates talked about 10 wickets after my eighth that I thought about the feat."[11] Her coach Nagesh Gupta praised her ability to swing the ball and called her feat as a "natural talent".[12]

In October 2020, she was named in the IPL Trailblazers' squad for the 2020 Women's T20 Challenge, which was held in the United Arab Emirates, although he did not appear in any match of the league.[13][14] She made her debut in Women's List A cricket for the Chandigarh Women, on 12 March 2021, during the 2020–21 Senior Women's One Day League.[15]
