Jyothirmayi is an Indian film actress, television actress, television anchor, and former model, who works in Malayalam cinema. Starting her career as a model, she ventured into television, working as an anchor and later starring numerous TV series. She went on to appear in many feature films, gaining recognition for her critically acclaimed performance in Bhavam (2002) and her role in Meesa Madhavan (2002).^[2] Since, she has acted in nearly forty two films in Malayalam as well as in Tamil and Telugu language.^[3]

Career[edit]

Jyothirmayi started her career as a model and serial artist and gained recognition for her performance in Indraneelam, directed by Suresh Krishnan. After a brief and unsuccessful stint acting in telefilms, she moved to full films. In her first film Pilots, she played a minor character and the film was a box office bomb. She was noticed after the release of Meesha Madhavan along with actor Dileep.^[4]

Personal life[edit]

She married Nishanth Kumar on 6 September 2004. Six years later the couple filed for divorce,^[5] and it was granted on 1 October 2011. She married film director and cinematographer Amal Neerad on 4 April 2015.^[6]
