Junaid Memon (born Zunaid Memon) is an Indian Film Producer, Director and Entrepreneur.[1] Junaid gained recognition for establishing Green TV a private Agricultural and rural knowledge bank" presented through a TV Channel and digital library. Alongside his filmmaking endeavors since 1997, Zunaid is associated with Nomad Films Ltd., engaged in producing feature films, commercials, and documentaries. He founded the nonprofit "ARDEA Foundation" in 2013, collaborating with Green TV to promote sustainable agriculture among Indian farmers.[2]

Film Production: Commencing his career in 1997, Memon founded Nomad Films Ltd., a Mumbai-based production company. He ventured into diverse filmmaking roles, producing, scripting, and directing several projects. Noteworthy works include the feature film "The Film" (2005)[3] and Marathi productions like "Anolkhi Hey Ghar Maze" (2009) and "Upside Down (2012)."[4] [5] Memon also ventured into regional cinema, producing the Tamil feature "Naan Aval Adhu" and the Punjabi film "Yaar Mera Rab Warga."

Green TV India: Memon's innovative spirit drove him to establish "Green TV," an unprecedented venture known as the world's sole private "agriculture and rural knowledge bank."[6] It is aimed to disseminate vital agricultural information, particularly benefiting rural communities.[7]

ARDEA Foundation: In 2013, Memon's commitment to societal advancement led to the foundation of "ARDEA Foundation," a nonprofit organization.[8] Working in collaboration with "Green TV India," the foundation focused on fostering sustainable agricultural practices across India, contributing to rural development.

Early life[edit]

Zunaid Memon was born into a Kutchi Memon Muslim family in the village of Bemetara. His father worked as a Farmers Mandi broker in a neighboring town. Memon excelled academically and gained district-level recognition for participation in school activities, including plays, dance, and singing, earning medals for academic achievements.

Financial constraints led Memon to move to Bombay at 13, where he worked as a street vendor from 1987 to 1993. Despite this, he continued his passion for performing by singing in a local orchestra group, sharing the stage with future industry names like Shantanu Mukherjee and Falguni Pathak. This period introduced Memon to the worlds of cinema and advertising, setting the stage for his diverse career path.
