Jigarthanda DoubleX (also known as Jigarthanda 2) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film was produce by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and S. Kathiresan under the banners of Stone Bench Films and Five Star Creations.[1] It is a standalone sequel to the 2014 film Jigarthanda. It stars Raghava Lawrence and S. J. Surya. The soundtrack and background score composed by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography handle by S. Thirunavukkarasu while editing is by Shafique Mohamed Ali.

Production[edit]

Karthik Subbaraj shared that the pre-production of Jigarthanda 2 started on Vinayagar Chathurthi on 31 August 2022.[5] The title look of the poster was released on 11 December 2022, with the film name Jigarthanda DoubleX.[6][7] The teaser for the film was released on 12 December 2022.[8] The makers of the film announced that the film will be released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. The film's cinematography handle by S. Thirunavukkarasu, who earlier worked on Karthik Subbaraj's Petta and Mercury. Shafique Mohamed Ali handle the editing of the film.[9]

Filming[edit]

The film's shoot started in Madurai on 12 December 2022[10] Principal photography began with the first schedule at Thandikudi and the shot was done 14 days at Thandikudi.

Soundtrack[edit]

The soundtrack and background score for the film was composed by Santhosh Narayanan.[11]

Release[edit]

The makers had announced that the film would release in Diwali, along with the dubbed versions of the film in Telugu and Hindi languages.[12][13]
