Jagran Lakecity University (abbreviated JLU) is a private university located in Bhopal, India.[1] The University carries forward the 15-year-old legacy of Jagran Social Welfare Society, its promoting body in being a pioneer in provision of quality education in the state of Madhya Pradesh.They have two campuses one in Chandanpura and other in Mugaliyachap. The university offers 65 degree programs to more than 2500 students per year. Till now, these students came from 8 countries and 27 states of India.[2] The University has been bestowed with several awards, such as 'University of the Year' for 2014, 2015 & 2016 by Federation of Madhya Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FMPCCI). The University was also recognized as a Global League Institute in 2016 & 2017 at the House of Commons, London, UK.[2]

The institute was initially set up in 2009 as Leeds Met India, Bhopal, and was the first international campus of Leeds Metropolitan University, UK. This was the result of partnership between Jagran Social Welfare Society and Leeds Metropolitan University.[3] In 2013, the institute was renamed to Jagran Lakecity University after it gained UGC accreditation and became a government approved state private university.[1]
Campus[edit]
Jagran Lakecity University has two campuses in the city of Bhopal, one in Chandanpura and the other in Mugaliyachap.
Chandanpur campus[edit]
The Chandanpur campus is spread in an area of 230 acres. It has 8 academic blocks to include classrooms, Media center, 02 auditoriums and various labs. Its architectural centerpiece is a 28,000 sqft Pyramid shape library and administrative building which provides students with access to more than 35,000 books and journals. The library is subscribed to DELNET and other internet libraries and has audio/video recordings of various academic books.
The university offers student accommodations for boys and girls separately within the campus itself. There is a shuttle service for students from hostel to city center. It also provides pick up and drop facilities from airports and railway stations. There is an on-campus ATM and infirmary within the campus. The campus is completely WIFI enabled and secured with CCTV cameras.
Academics[edit]
Jagran Lakecity University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses in Law, Economics, Engineering, Journalism, Management, Design, FilmMaking and Animation, Culinary Arts, Advertising and PR, English Literature, Public Policy, International Affairs, Psychology and Sports.[2] The university has Centres of Excellence (CoEs) to facilitate research and development on various projects through national and international collaborations.[4] The university also publishes its own journal titled "Jagran International Journal on Contemporary Research" where outstanding research papers prepared by renowned academicians worldwide are published.
The university has MOU's with many national and international institutions including University of Lincoln, University College London, Indo Euro Synchronization, APS Mechatronik Germany, United Nations Association of Australia, RMIT University Australia, University of West Los Angeles, Imperial College London, Guizhou University China.[5]
To impart industrial knowledge, the various schools of the university host guest lectures where eminent personalities from diverse fields deliver lectures on wide array of topics.[6]
