The institute is situated in Balco - Urga Ring Road, Korba. The institute was temporarily conducted at Government Polytechnic, Korba till completion of construction of its present and permanent campus. In 2012, The institute was shifted to its present and permanent campus.

The institute offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in the various areas, 240 seats per annum in total.^[2]
