Summary
Review what you've learned

You have now seen the whole talk page system. A quick review of what you have learned:

  • Every article has a talk page for discussing improvements to it, reached through the "Talk" tab.
  • A new topic starts a new section at the bottom of the page, under its own heading.
  • Replies go under the comment they answer, indented with one more colon each time, so the thread stays readable.
  • Every comment is signed with ~~~~, so it is always clear who wrote what, and when.
  • Your user talk page is where other editors leave messages for you, and where helpers answer your {{Help me}} requests.
  • Good layout, clear headings and polite messages draw other editors in: pinging someone, the Help desk and the Village pump are there when a discussion needs more eyes.

That is everything you need to join a discussion. For the fuller reference version of the same material, see Help:Talk pages.
