Goregaon is a town and a Tehsil in Gondia subdivision of Gondia district in Nagpur Division(Berar region) in the state of Maharashtra, India. It has railway station with the name Hirdamali Railway Station on Gondia-Chanda Fort Rail Line. Now it Connected to NH 753.

Goregaon is a Town in Goregaon Taluka in Gondia District of Maharashtra State, India. It belongs to Nagpur Division (Vidarbha Region). It is located 12 km towards South from District headquarters in Gondia. It is a Taluka headquarter.

Demographics[edit]

According to 2011 Indian census, Goregaon had a population of 8,766. Males constitute 60% of the population and Females 40%. Goregaon has an average literacy rate of 80%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 82% and female literacy of 69%. 12% of the population is under six years of age.

Climate[edit]

The climate here is generally hot and dry whereas in the rainy season it is humid and the rainfall is quite heavy. The temperature in summer goes above 45 °C and in winter drops below 10 °C.
