Zeeshan Khan (born on October 30, 1990) professionally known as the 'Eco Man of India' is an Indian entrepreneur and environmentalist from Bhopal, India. He is the CEO of Beyond Smart Group, a multi-venture organisation. Zeeshan was awarded the prestigious MP Ratna Award in 2018 and the India leadership award in 2019 for his contribution to the environment.
Early life and education[edit]
Zeeshan was born on October 30, 1990, in Bhopal to Rashid Khan and Rizwana Khan. He completed his graduation from Bhopal School of Social Sciences in 2012. Later he dropped out of his MBA from RKDF University in 2014. He is married to Sameera Ali.[1][2]
He received affiliation from the Government of Madhya Pradesh and the Government of India, Smart City initiative, and the United Nations in 2019 for his work[3] and also participated in MTV India reality show MTV Stuntmania in 2011.[4]
Career[edit]
Zeeshan started his career working in a call centre before becoming a multimillionaire. He curated several innovative activities to educate people on the disastrous impact of the use of plastic in daily life. He started a plastic-free environment movement during the 3R forum in Indore in 2018. Zeeshan was responsible for the Plastic Donation Center in Bhopal, which was inaugurated by Jitu Patwari, the Minister of Higher Education of Madhya Pradesh, Alok Sharma, the Mayor of Bhopal, and Vijay Dutta, the Commissioner of Bhopal Municipal Corporation.[5][6]
He led the improvement of the ranking of Bhopal in the Swachh Survekshan 2020, with a sensor-based 'Smart restroom monitoring system to monitor public toilets in real-time.[7]
Zeeshan also started the “Garbage Café” initiative in Ambikapur, India that gives food in exchange for plastic.[8]
His company, Beyond Smart Group, is active in a variety of industries like Infrastructure, Manpower, Automobile, Technology, Medical & Art. Zeeshan has introduced a unique and first of its kind concept called 'Pickating' in Bhopal in the year 2018 to educate people on waste management and promote a litter-free city. Under this innovative program, twenty professional skaters went around the streets to pick up plastic and thereby clear the garbage off the roads.
He, co-founder Relive Eco Foundation, a company that working on launching an Eco India Movement.[9] During the COVID-19 pandemic, Zeeshan has also started #DisposeSafely campaign to make people aware of the importance of safe disposal of used masks and gloves to prevent the spread of the virus. He developed “Ok2Pass”, a digital document that provides secure proof of Covid-19 vaccination or negative test results at such places as airports, railway stations, malls, hospitals and so forth.[10]
