Domalapenta

Domalapenta is a village of Mahaboob Nagar district in the Indian state of Telangana. It is near to Srisailam Dam and the temple of Srisailam.

Domalapenta is a village on the left side of Srisailam Project, situated in Nallamala Hills of Mahaboobnagar district, Telangana, India. It is on the left bank of River Krishna, about 186 km south of common capital Hyderabad.

Domalapenta has an average elevation of 415 meters (1,362 feet).

Domalapenta is also called as BrahmaGiri on the name of Lord Brahma, as he did Tapash on this hill. There is a purana story that describes that Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma performed Tapash on three hills on the banks of River Krishna. Thus these hills are called as RudraGiri/ShivaGiri (Srisailam), VishnuGiri (Sunnipenta) and Brahma Giri (Domalapenta).
