Chandramukhi (transl. Moon-faced beauty) is an Indian Tamil-language horror comedy film series directed by P. Vasu, Chandramukhi (2005) and Chandramukhi 2 (2023)[1][2] where Rajinikanth, Jyothika (who played the titular role), Prabhu, Vadivelu and Nayanthara who appear in the first film. In the second film starred Raghava Lawrence, Kangana Ranaut, Vadivelu, Srushti Dange and Lakshmi Menon playing a lead roles in a respective series. Both films were successful at the box office.[3][4][5][6]
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Creepy happenings in an abandoned mansion are attributed to the ghost of an ancient courtesan, back for revenge.

- Chandramukhi (2005): It revolves around a woman who suffers from dissociative identity disorder that affects a family, and a psychiatrist who intends to solve the case while risking his life, however Ganga is later possessed by the spirit of Chandramukhi.
- Chandramukhi 2 (2023): second installment of this series Chandramukhi 2 is under final stage of filming.The film stars Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut, with Vadivelu, Srushti Dange and Lakshmi Menon in supporting roles. It is scheduled to release on 19 September 2023.
