Plot[edit]

Sahadevan is the son of a Police Constable Moolamkuzhiyil Prabhakaran who works in the Dog Squad and Arjun is a trained police dog with a unique ability to nab culprits and decipher a crime scene. Sahadevan has only one ambition - to join the Police Department for which he clears his exams and waits for the physical test. Sahadevan is not in good terms with his brother-in-law Pitambaran - as he married Sahadevan's elder sister after an elopement.

Meanwhile, Baba - a terrorist incarcerated in the Tihar Jail - decides to murder the Chief Minister, Ravi Menon - appointed recently - with the help of the shrewd and cunning Police Commissioner, Gowri Shankar. Ravi Menon, who was the Minister of State for Home Affairs had ordered for the quelling of Baba's terrorist organisation - which led to Baba's imprisonment and the slaying of his family. Thereafter, Baba has been conceiving a plot to kill Ravi Menon. However Sahadevan foils the plan as his dog Arjun severely wounds himself while retrieving a time bomb from the hospital where the C.M was undergoing treatment. The blame is put on Sahadevan by Shankar but he is saved by the Deputy Inspector General of Police who is a kind-hearted and genuine person.

Shankar, along with Pitambaran intentionally makes sure Sahadevan fails his physical test - as Shankar detests him for preventing the bomb explosion in the hospital. When he finds out who the crooks are he tries to find a way to foil it by becoming a private detective and through taking over the private investigative firm run by his uncle Karamchand alias Karunan Chanthakkavala. Sahadevan alters his name and undertakes the pseudonym CID Moosa, a short form of Moolamkuzhiyil Sahadevan. He has a funky car - given to him by his Uncle - that can do tricks to assist him in evading his enemies. During all of this he falls in love with a girl named Meena. After numerous attempts, he makes her reciprocate.

Meanwhile, he manages to intercept the first terrorist who had planned to place the bomb in the hospital. Shankar, in anger destroys Moosa's office saying it does not have a license. When Moosa goes to meet the C.M for filing a complaint, C.M's car explodes (as Baba's henchman had planted a bomb in it) and Moosa heroically saves him. Moosa is applauded for the same. He later accidentally kills the second terrorist member and gets a Rs.5 Lakh reward announced by the Government. Meena then tells Moosa that these terrorists were tenants in her house and she has filed a complaint with Shankar, not realising that she would be arrested as her flat will be raided.

Shankar tries to molest Meena but Moosa intervenes and fights with him to save her. Later Shankar forces the C.M to issue a warrant against Moosa which he reluctantly accepts. On the way home, Ravi sees Baba on the road after he is released from prison. Moosa meets Ravi to prove his innocence and then, Ravi tells him about Baba's animosity towards him. Suddenly Baba barges and shoots the C.M in his arm. Moosa takes Ravi Menon to safety in his car and uses the different tricks and devices in his car to evade the police who were following him. He is then intercepted by Shankar and Baba but shoots both of them using his wits and a little help from Arjun, his dog. The Chief Minister is saved again and Moosa gets sent to the Scotland Yard for advanced professional training, But a Lunatic Man (Salim Kumar) runs the plane and he troubles Moosa by shaking the plane.
