WikiProject Deletion sorting collects articles for deletion discussions into lists by topic, so that editors can quickly find and join the discussions that match their interests. It is a sorting system only: the discussions themselves still take place on their own pages, and the outcome is decided there, not on these lists.
How it works[edit source]
Sorting a discussion takes two steps:
- Add the notice to the discussion. At the end of the nomination on the discussion page, add:
{{subst:delsort|Topic}}(for example{{subst:delsort|Schools}}). This adds a note to the discussion saying it has been included in that topic's list. Twinkle users can add the notice while nominating. - Add the discussion to the list. On the topic list page (for example Bharatpedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Schools), add the discussion at the top of the "Articles for deletion" section by transcluding it:
{{Bharatpedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}}
When a discussion is closed, its entry is removed from the list.
Topic lists[edit source]
- Schools – schools, colleges and other educational institutions
- People – biographies and other articles about individual people
- Companies – companies and businesses
- Organisations – organisations, institutions and groups that are not companies
- Films – films and film-related articles
Geography lists[edit source]
Adding a new list[edit source]
If a topic needs its own list, create the page Bharatpedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Topic with the same layout as the existing lists (an introduction line, an "Articles for deletion" section, and the category [[Category:Bharatpedia deletion sorting|Topic]] at the end), and add a link to it on this page so that other editors can find it.
